ProSheet® is a plotted overlay sheet that is accurately printed on a XY plotter. ProSheet® is
produced using printer provided .pdf, .ai, .cdr and .dxf files. H. S. Boyd offers the subsequent
transformation into a die file and die line for the customer’s application of Boyd’s new Precision
Perf®, Precision Score® and Precision Slit® product line. Application can be accomplished
on or off press to provide exact registration of the printed material. The ProSheet® is mounted
to the carrier (PPP) sheet or applied directly to the cylinder according to the provided instructions.
ProSheet® makes it easy to quickly and efficiently perforate, crease or slit on-press.

Trutest

Trutest is used to measure the hardness of "soft"
surfaces such as printing rollers. With Trutest you
can detect bad rollers before they can cause print
quality problems, making Trutest an essential TQM
tool. Trutest has been specially designed using the
latest in CAD technology to provide accurate, consistent
readings on printing press rollers. The orientation
of the gauge and the indicator point permit taking
readings of rollers on the printing press with ease.
Trutest is manufactured using only the highest quality
materials. The body of the gauge, which encases the
precision components, is made of Delrin. All parts
are machined to the highest tolerances to assure a
long, trouble free life. The dial indicator is a precision
device with a movable scale that allows presetting
the face to read zero when doing multiple checks. |

crisp, sharp dots on the printed page. The Trupak
packing gauge measures packing the most accurate way
– directly on the press. In addition, maintaining
proper packing helps avoid costly premature wear of
plates, blankets, cylinder bearings and cylinder gears.
Due to our advanced design, measuring packing with
the Trupak is both quick and accurate. Twin radius
contact rails precisely align the precision indicator
along the centerline of the cylinder. Measurements

For more than 25 years, H.S. Boyd Company has
provided printers with quality dies for offset
die-cutting. Originally starting out with simple
window dies, H.S. Boyd now produces Litho-Dies
in a variety of shapes, sizes, and mounting
substructures to allow even the most complex
die-cut on the offset press. H.S. Boyd Litho-Dies
eliminate the need for separate die-cutting
runs or the expense of pre-cut stock purchases.
Manufactured to exacting H.S. Boyd standards,
Litho-Dies are re-usable for thousands of impressions
on the press. All dies are custom-made to ensure
adherence to the customers’ needs and
specifications. PPP dies, when used with the
PPP system, can provide die-cutting precision
that enables printers to die-cut label stock
and a variety of other stock materials. |

 Litho-Punch®
Litho-Punch creates a punched circular formation in
the printed stock that remains lightly attached by
friction for removal by the end user. Litho-Punch
is ideal for making circular punches in promotional
pieces, dies, and notebook inserts. It is available
in 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2",
1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" diameters with
a serrated edge. Other diameters and straight cut
punches are available by special order. All Litho-Punches
are available for both paper and card stocks.

| Micro-Perf® |
|
 With
30-, 40- and 50-tooth rules, Micro-Perf is ideal for perforating
continuous-feed forms, creating a perforation line that
remains clean with no stray fibers or rough edges. The rules
are available in a rule height of .022 up to .029 inch,
designed for use on paper or lightweight card stocks. Micro-Perf
is also ideal for jobs that will be passed through a laser
printer after being perforated.

.0125 inch to as high as .035 inch. Generally, the lower
rule heights work well on light-weight stocks, with the

Sabertooth
Perforation Backing
H.S.
Boyd’s sabertooth backing grips the tympan on the letterpress,
not only keeping the rule in register but also protecting
the tympan. The backing is secured with double faced adhesive,
with the sharp curved teeth along the edges gripping the tympan.
Sabertooth backing is available in 15-foot lengths of 1/8”
or 1/4” widths. |
